Trees follow a very nice pattern, the shape they take their branches into, is so dynamic and un-predictable that whatever the outcome is, it's bound to look beautiful! This is a very beautiful shot!
It is indeed gold. That's my memory of France at this time of year - the golden woods of the Ardeche, just across the Rhone from where I was an assistante in a lycee.
